It would leave us isolated and antagonized within the EU and NATO, with diminuished influence on our primary economic partners. We're part of an alliance and the alliance has decided to push back against russia.
But I don't think that this scenario would in fact be better either (I will not entertain your idea of a peace treaty that leaves ukraine intact somehow. That one is a russian lie). It would mean autocrats all over the world feel empowered attacking and annexing neighbouring states. Especially if they have nukes. Which will lead to states all over the world acquiring nukes, risking nuclear war with unforeseeable consequences.
