This is not how pagers work. It'd be much higher effort to have put something in place to log what messages were received and they cannot call back out again thus the idea of using them in the first place probably. Instead of wasting space and risking detection with that better to just throw a few grams more explosive in there, and then the receive-only nature works in your favour as short of something like explosives detection dogs (and muslims and jews both hate dogs so that's not happening) there's little chance of anything being found if you open it up vs suspiciously extra electronic components.>>62533399

Yes I did say that was possible but probably not worth the higher risk of detection and waste of the very limited space the devices had. Explosives inside the battery could be made to look pretty innocent, a bunch of extra components to broadcast location with their associated power drain (batter life already likely cut down due to explosives) is something that's going to jump out as suspicious to anyone with basic electrical engineering ability.
