You say this as if "most disposable 31A member" means anything. The standard is that they're part of the main cast. Yes, he could have killed her and written like normal, but you can also make a prediction based on why any character was put into 31A in the first place and why other characters who are popular/get screen time were not, as to whether or not it's likely they'll be written off at this point. I don't know why you're so obsessed with a spoiler boogeyman, to think that anyone thinking on other option is more likely, in a situation using your words "equally possible", is spoiled.
