Sometimes. Depends on the contract; sometimes the stud owner gets a flat fee, sometimes they get pick of the litter, or pick of the litter + the difference for a flat fee, or a percentage of what the profit is. It depends on what you agree on.
For some breeds, birth complications are not uncommon. With any dog, it is always a possibility. There was also a good possibility that the bitch didn't get pregnant, or the stud had poor sperm count, etc. You also want the contract to cover potential injury or disease. Your dog's penis could get injured, become necrotic, gets STIs. I'm actually surprised they didn't require at least a brucellosis test, as it can cause late term/labor issues and pup death
Puppy sales are in the fucking gutter btw. So if you have a choice, pick the flat fee. I would not be surprised if the breeder won't be able to sell all the pups and have to cull them or something. I'm seeing purebred breeders of somewhat rarer breeds that actually participate in confirmation shows, surrendering litters that didn't sell even after steep discounts. This one can't even boast confirmation wins, so they are going to be fucked.

I think it would depend on the dog's reaction. Are you making the dog fear you in doing so? Then yeah probably not great. Also you're only teaching the dog to not do this when you are around and aware. So unless this undesirable thing directly involves you (like jumping, humping etc) it wont achieve much.

Odd, I'm so used to dogs loving to go on walks. Not sure I ever met a dog that didn't want to go on walks. I've had senior aloof breeds that weren't excited for walks but still humored me.Getting a job soon.
My dog will go from having me around 24/7 to not having me around for 10 hours out of the day.

Other people will abuse your dog. My dog is afraid of a very specific dog in the neighborhood because a walker beckman’d him for stopping to sniff and piss. Repeatedly. The other dog was just there and my dog likes to piss on the curb when he sees other dogs. Thats all they felt warranted the abuse.
